SLS Glass Filled Duraform Material Properties

The Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) process creates solid, three dimensional objects by fusing powdered materials with a CO2 laser. Once the 3D CAD data is sliced in the software and downloaded, the SLS process can begin. As the process begins, a layer of heat-fusible powder is deposited across the part build chamber. An initial cross-section of the object under fabrication is selectively 'drawn' on the layer of powder by a heat generating CO2 laser. The interaction of the laser beam with the powder fuses the powder particles to form a solid mass. An additional layer of powder is deposited via a roller mechanism on top of the previously scanned layer. The process is repeated, with each layer fusing to the layer below it until the part is complete.
